Next Generation Camera
The current camera configuration is passively cooled through conduction
and natural convection. Approximately 15 watts are generated by the TE cooler,
with a somewhat smaller amount coming from the electronics enclosure. For future
camera applications this may not be acceptable. Estimates have already been
made for a liquid cooled camera head (remotely exhausted heat) and also for
separate, remote camera electronics box. Requests have also been made for a
larger CCD, which can be accommodated.
